The next step in the NCAA track & field season takes place this week as athletes descend on Austin, Texas for the NCAA West Region meet. The event will run from Thursday, May 27 to Saturday, May 29 at Mike A. Myers Track and Soccer Stadium on the campus of the University of Texas.

The Big West has athletes littered all over the declared lists as the league has 59 entries and three relay squads on the men's side and 53 entries and three relay contingents on the women's side. The method of qualifying for the Regional meets changed this year as the top 48 marks in each event gain entry into the field. In addition there are only two Regionals being held this season, down from four from recent years.
