Pacific's Jenifer Widjaja joined Cal Poly's Brittany Blalock and Suzie Matzenauer as the Big West individuals selected to compete in the 2010 NCAA Division I Women's Tennis Singles and Doubles Championships.

The singles and doubles competition will be conducted May 26-31 at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex in Athens, Georgia, following the conclusion of the team Championship (May 20-25) The University of Georgia will serve as host.

Widjaja will represent the Big West in the NCAA singles championships for the second straight year.  She earned an automatic bid to the 64-player field by virtue of being the highest ranked Big West player in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's Top 125.  Widjaja is No. 82 in the May 3 ITA poll.

She finished 18-3 in dual matches at No. 1 singles for the Tigers, earning a national ranking as high as No. 73.  Widjaja notched an 8-0 record against Big West opponents in the regular season, and defeated fellow first-team all-conference member Courtney Byron of UC Irvine in her only match at last week's Big West Tournament.  The junior enters the NCAA's on a 12-match win streak.

In 2009, Widjaja lost to No. 3 seed Aurelija Miseviciute of Arkansas in the first round in College Station, Tex.

Cal Poly's Blalock and Matzenauer earned an automatic bid to the doubles portion of the NCAA Championships on the basis of being the Big West's only ranked team in the ITA Top 60.  The Mustang No. 1 duo is No. 48 in the May 3 ITA poll.

Blalock and Matzenauer contributed heavily to a Cal Poly doubles contingent which won the doubles point in nearly 80 percent of its dual matches.  The tandem was 17-3 in spring duals, including an upset of Stanford's second-ranked doubles team on March 21.  The two also finished undefeated against Big West competition in 2010.

This is Blalock's second individual selection to the NCAA Championships.  In 2008, paired with Steffi Wong, the two earned an invitation to the doubles championships.  They lost to Vanja Corovic and Marija Milic of Texas in the first round.

Neither the singles nor doubles draws have yet been announced by the NCAA.
