Junior Artem Gramma of Pacific garnered Big West Men's Tennis Player of the Year accolades to highlight the announcement of the men's tennis all-conference team today.  UC Irvine's Trevor Kronemann earned Coach of the Year recognition and Cal Poly's Jordan Bridge captured Freshman of the Year honors.

Gramma, a native of Krivoj Roj, Ukraine, is the second straight Tiger and the fifth in the last seven seasons to claim the Big West's top player award.   Gramma finished the 2010 season with a 14-6 dual match record, including a 14-4 mark at the No. 1 singles position.  He went 5-0 during the regular season against Big West opponents and notched a sixth win when he defeated fellow first-team all-conference honoree Fabian Matthews of UC Irvine in the semifinals of the Big West Tournament.  The junior also had a win over No. 84 ranked Dusan Medan of Marquette earlier in the season.

Kronemann captured his first top coaching honor in leading the Anteaters to their first Big West Tournament title under his tutelage.  In his third season at UC Irvine, Kronemann helped UCI to its first NCAA Tournament berth since 2005.  He led the Anteaters to a 17-11 mark, including 3-2 in Big West matches.  Kronemann's Anteaters defeated UC Riverside, Pacific and conference regular season champion Cal Poly to secure the tournament championship last weekend at Indian Wells Tennis Garden.  Kronemann, who is 51-52 at the school, is the first individual since Greg Patton in 1988 to receive the conference's top coaching honor.

Cal Poly earned the top freshman award for the second straight year as Bridge followed in the footsteps of teammate Andre Dome in 2009.  Bridge, playing primarily at the No. 1 and 2 singles positions, helped the Mustangs finish 4-1 in Big West play to win the regular season championship.  He finished 9-13 in dual matches, including 3-3 at No. 1, 6-7 at No. 2, 0-2 at No. 3 and 0-1 at No. 4.  The native of Irvine, Calif. also earned first team all-conference honors in doubles with partner Alex Sonesson.
