The Cal State Fullerton softball team put together its best offensive showing of the 2010 season on Friday night, opening Big West Conference play with a pair of run-rule victories over visiting UC Santa Barbara by the scores of 10-1 in five innings and 12-3 in six innings at Anderson Family Field.

LBSU Splits Big West Conference Doubleheader With Pacific

Brooke Turner and Nalani St. Germain keyed Long Beach State (17-16, 1-1 Big West) to a split of a doubleheader with Pacific (13-19, 1-1 Big West) Friday at the 49er Softball Complex as The Beach beat the Tigers 7-0 in the first game before dropping a 3-2 decision in the nightcap.

Cal Poly Opens Big West Play With Split Versus UC Riverside

Freshman righthander Rebecca Patton surrendered a collegiate-low three hits and notched the eventual game-winning run on Friday afternoon as the Cal Poly softball team salvaged a doubleheader split against UC Riverside with a 3-2 nightcap victory at Bob Janssen Field. The Mustangs, however, began defense of their 2009 Big West Conference crown by dropping a 10-0 decision against the Highlanders during the opening contest.

Matadors, Aggies Split Doubleheader in Big West Opener

The Cal State Northridge softball team (17-17, 1-1 Big West) split its Big West-opening doubleheader with UC Davis Friday afternoon at Matador Diamond. Northridge rallied for a 4-1 victory in game one, but could not must the same effort in falling 2-1 in game two.
