The Big West Conference, in partnership with U.S. Bank, will host an inaugural youth basketball clinic on Saturday, March 13th on the campus of Cal State Fullerton. The U.S. Bank Big West Tournament Basketball Clinic is a mini-camp where kids in third through sixth grades will learn the basics of basketball through drills led by Big West Conference student-athletes and coaches.
U.S. Bank, the title sponsor of this event, has paired up with the Boys and Girls Club of Fullerton in order to provide the kids a chance to learn the fundamentals behind basketball. Alayne Ingram, the Community Relations Director of the Los Angeles Sparks, will speak to all participants as the clinic begins.
“It is always nice to see Big West student-athletes get involved in their community and inspire young athletes,” said Dennis Farrell, Big West Conference Commissioner.
“We are proud to partner with the Big West Conference and bring this clinic to the kids from the Fullerton Boys and Girls Club,” said U.S. Bank Orange County President Bill Cave. “Not only will the kids learn basketball skills, but they get to spend time with Division I student-athletes who show how hard work and determination can pay off in your life.”
The clinic will take place at Cal State Fullerton’s Student Recreation Center. Each participating child will receive a basketball, a poster that will later be autographed by Big West student athletes, and a free ticket to the Big West Women’s Basketball Championship game, which will take place at 1:00 pm at the Anaheim Convention Center.
