Big West Conference men's basketball teams posted a 7-2 record on Saturday in the eighth annual BracketBusters event sponsored by ESPN. The record, which was the best among the eight conferences that have all their members entered in the event, included a 4-0 mark in road games.
The 7-2 showing was the best for the Big West in the five years the entire conference membership has been represented in the event. Cal Poly defeated Hawai'i, Long Beach State toppled Idaho, UC Davis beat Boise State and UC Santa Barbara slid past Fresno State in the four conference road triumphs. Big West triumphs at home included Cal State Fullerton over SIU-Edwardsville, UC Irvine over Marist, and UC Riverside over Youngstown State.
