UCSB Sweeps Weekly Swim Honors
UC Santa Barbara was the big winner of the Big West swimming & diving honors, sweeping the awards to bring its season count to six honorees (two men, four women).
Ferguson, a native of Sacramento, Calif., was instrumental in the Gauchos' victory against #22 UNLV. The sophomore has a first place finish in the 100 back (50.95) and a second place showing in the 100 free (46.43). Ferguson also was on two first place relay contingents, swimming a 23.45 backstroke split in the 200 medley relay and a 45.73 anchor split in the 400 free relay.
Javanifard, a native of Sacramento, Calif., helped lead UCSB to a big home win over UNLV. The senior took home a first place finish in the 100 back (56.58), while also picking up a second place result in the 50 free (23.63). She also was on two winning relay contingents, swimming a 26.19 backstroke split in the 200 medley relay and a 51.95 split in the 400 free relay.
