Three Teams Set to Host Dual Meets in Big West Swim Action
Three of the four Big West swim teams in action this weekend will be in their home pools as the push towards the conference championship meet continues.
Cal Poly, UC Santa Barbara and Pacific are the clubs at home over the weekend, with each hosting a non-conference foe.
The Mustangs welcome UC Santa Cruz to Anderson Aquatic Center, a squad they faced a year ago at Cal Poly's temporary home, Sinsheimer Park. The Mustangs cruised to victory over the Banana Slugs a year ago, with the men winning 170-118 and the women posting a 183-104 final.
UCSB is looking for a bit of revenge at Campus Pool this weekend as the Gauchos square off against UNLV, a squad that topped them on both the men’s and women’s side a year ago. The UCSB men fell in a tight race a year ago, 141-121, while the women were downed by the Runnin’ Rebels, 169-93.
Pacific's women's team will be Tiger team in action at Chris Kjeldsen Pool as it takes on San Jose State. It’s a rematch of a dual meet a week ago between the two, which was taken by the Spartans, 208-71.
The final team in action this weekend is UC Davis as the Aggies hit the road to taken on Cal State Bakersfield. The two squads met a year ago at Schaal Aquatics Center with the homestanding Aggies sweeping the meet 160-117 on the men’s side and 162-123 on the women’s side.
