Big West Conference Commissioner Dennis Farrell today announced the fall sportsmanship team award winners for the sports of women's volleyball, men's and women's soccer, and men's and women's cross country.
   
The Sportsmanship Award is voted upon by the respective student-athletes in each of the Big West's 18 championship sports.  UC Irvine captured the award in the sports of women's volleyball, women's soccer and men's cross country.  The UC Riverside men's soccer and Cal State Fullerton women's cross country squads rounded out the list of honorees for the conference's five fall sports.
   
“To be acknowledged by your peers for best exemplifying exceptional conduct in competition is an honor that the UC Irvine, UC Riverside and Cal State Fullerton programs should take pride in,” said Farrell.  “Sportsmanship is taken very seriously by the Big West Conference, and this award recognizes its importance.”
