UC Davis junior Mark Payne (Stockton, Calif./St. Mary's HS) has been selected to the CollegeInsider.com Preseason Mid-Major All-America Team.  He was one of 25 players to be honored by the online publication.

Payne, a 6-8 guard, averaged 10.4 points and 5.8 rebounds as a sophomore to garner All-Big West Second Team recognition.  He also led the Big West in assists.  Payne was named to the Big West Preseason Media All-Conference Team earlier this fall.

In addition, Long Beach State sophomore guard Larry Anderson was tabbed an Honorable Mention selection to the Preseason Mid-Major All-American Team.  Anderson, a 6-5 guard, captured 2008-09 Big West Freshman of the Year accolades and became the first freshman in 35 years to be named to the all-conference first team.
