Behind the play of three different goalkeepers, the Cal State Northridge women's soccer team (5-6, 1-0 BWC) defeated Cal Poly, 3-2, Friday afternoon in its Big West Conference opener at Matador Soccer Field. Heidi Farran, Desiree Cardenas and Farryn Townley each scored for the Matadors, while Katie Russ filled in at goalkeeper to earn the win.

Visiting Saint Mary's overcame a 1-0 deficit to claim a 2-1 double overtime non-conference women's soccer victory over UC Davis Friday afternoon at Aggie Soccer Stadium. Rochelle VanBuskirk scored the lone Aggie goal while SMC's Jessica Menzhuber scored twice to lead the Gaels.
