The Big West Conference will debut a new Twitter project this weekend for men's soccer in the form of Big West Live, a Twitter feed specifically designed to give fans an augmented look at select Big West events. Bringing near-instantaneous photos, commentary, and updates to the Internet, Big West Live is the first feed of its kind - a supplemental stream information for those not in attendance. Moving beyond the scores and stats, Big West Live will deliver the "color" of Big West events. It will also allow fans to opt in to the experience - those fans who are following other Big West Twitter accounts will not receive the volume of information shared on Big West Live.
The first men's soccer Big West Live event will cover the UC Santa Barbara vs. Rutgers this Friday, September 11. The nationally-ranked Gauchos will be looking for revenge for last season's overtime loss to the Scarlet Knights.
Fans can follow along in two ways:
1. On the Big West Live Twitter page (http://twitter.com/BigWestLive). No account necessary, but updates will not be automatic.
2. On your own Twitter account. Simply type “follow BigWestLive” as your Twitter update. Updates will then be sent directly to your account. At the end of the event, you can type “leave BigWestLive” to stop following.
If you want to join in on the discussion, either reply to us on Twitter (@BigWestLive) or add our hashtag (#BWLive) to your tweets!
