Head Coach Brian Gimmillaro is entering his 25th year at the helm of the 49ers.

The 2009-10 Big West year is underway, with women's volleyball the second sport to hit the court.  Get insight for the season with preseason interviews with the coaches of the Big West Conference on BigWest.TV.  Over the next few days, new previews with the coaches will be added to the roster.  Interviews are in order of predicted finish according to the Big West Preseason Coaches Poll.

Long Beach State

Long Beach State enters the 2009 season as the favorite to win their second consecutive title. Last year, the 49ers climbed back to the top of the Big West with a record of 26-6 (13-3 Big West), earning their first Big West title since 2005.  They also earned their 22nd-consecutive trip to the NCAA Tournament, a mark equaled by only four other institutions.  UCSB returns a wealth of talent this season, led by 2008 All-American Honorable Mention Naomi Washington and 2008 Big West Freshman of the Year Caitlin Ledoux.  Hear from coach Brian Gimmillaro, entering his 25th season as head coach at Long Beach State.
