First-team All-American Ryan Ammerman and the UC Irvine Anteaters won their 2nd NCAA men's volleyball title in 3 years by rallying from a 2-1 deficit to beat USC, 3-2.

UC Irvine defated USC on Saturday evening, 3-2, to win its second men's volleyball national championship in the past three years.  Jordan DuFault's kill in the fifth set clinched the title for the Anteaters who came back from a one-set deficit.  The Anteaters dropped the first game of the match, 30-26, before rebounding in set two with a 30-23 win.  Game three went to USC, 30-26 again.  But the momentum shifted in set four as the Anteaters dominated and won 30-17.  Game five was a seesaw battle.  The Anteaters trailed 8-6 when the teams switched sides, but the Anteaters won 9 of the next 13 points to clinch the title.  For more information visit the UC Irvine website later Saturday night.
