Timely Cary Hitting Sends No. 22 Cal Poly to Sweep, First Place

A bases-clearing double with two outs during the sixth inning from first baseman Krysten Cary handed the No. 22 Cal Poly softball team a 4-1 victory during the opening game of a Saturday afternoon doubleheader against UC Davis at LaRue Field while, in the nightcap, a run-scoring base hit in the seventh by the junior helped the Mustangs complete the sweep with a 3-2 victory.

Matador Softball Takes Two from UC Riverside Saturday

The Cal State Northridge softball team (26-17, 6-8 BWC) took a pair of games from UC Riverside Saturday afternoon at Matador Diamond. The Matadors held on to a 1-0 victory in game one and then rallied to take a 2-1 decision in the second game.

Gauchos and Tigers Split Big West Doubleheader

The UC Santa Barbara softball team (22-22, 5-9) snapped a four-game losing skid on Saturday as they shut out Pacific (17-28, 2-12), 3-0, in game one of this weekend's three-game Big West Conference series at the Tigers' Bill Simoni Field. The Tigers returned the favor in the doubleheader's second game, defeating the Gauchos, 3-2.
