One month is all that separates the Big West track & field teams from gathering in Irvine for the Championship meet, thus beginning a busy stretch of competition leading into championship weekend.

The schedule shows only three meets on the schedule, but every team in the league is slated to be in competition in at least two of those three competitions.

Prior to the weekend, Cal State Fullerton, Long Beach State, UC Davis, UC Irvine and UC Santa Barbara will travel to Azusa, Calif., for the California/Heptathlon/Decathlon. Friday, Cal Poly, Cal State Northridge and UC Riverside will join the other five Big West schools and a host of other teams and individuals head to Walnut, Calif., for the prestigious Mt. SAC Relays, one of the bigger meets in the Southern California area.

One program has a "home" meet on the docket as Long Beach State hosts the Long Beach Invitational at Cerritos College Saturday afternoon.
