UCR Takes Series From Pacific With 5-3 Come-From-Behind Win

The Highlanders Softball Team picked up its first series win in conference play this season and improved to 4-5 in Big West competition with a 5-3 win at Pacific on Saturday afternoon. Marissa Alvidrez (above) came on in relief and pitched four scoreless innings to keep UCR in the ballgame, while Jessica Vasser and Brooke Hebenton each knocked in a pair of runs in the four-run fifth to give the Highlanders the lead.

Game One Comeback, Cobb Shutout Fuel Gauchos to Sweep of Cal State Northridge

UC Santa Barbara rallied from a 6-3 deficit to post a 7-6 win in the first game of a softball doubleheader and freshman pitcher Krista Cobb tossed a three-hit shutout in a 6-0 second game win as the Gauchos swept visiting Cal State Northridge on Saturday afternoon at Campus Diamond.

No. 25 Cal Poly Finalizes Long Beach State Sweep with 2-1 Victory

A run-scoring base hit in the sixth inning by starting lefthander Anna Cahn and a fielding error during the same sequence by Long Beach State center fielder Bridgette Pagano allowed the No. 25 Cal Poly softball team to retain a share of the Big West Conference lead, push a program-record home winning streak to 18-straight contests and cement a second-straight sweep of Long Beach State at Bob Janssen Field with a 2-1 victory Saturday afternoon.

Fullerton Finishes Sweep of UC Davis, 7-2

Senior Courtney Martinez's RBI double in the sixth snapped a 2-2 tie and four different Titans finished with two hits on the day as visiting Cal State Fullerton completed a three-game sweep of UC Davis with a 7-2 victory over the Aggies on Saturday afternoon at La Rue Field.
