UC Davis scored seven runs in the first two innings on its way to an 8-3 victory over Nevada in a non-conference softball game at La Rue Field on Wednesday. The Wolf Pack entered the game ranked No. 23 in the ESPN.com/USA Softball poll and is receiving votes in the USA Today/NFCA poll. Sarah Axelson hit her third home run and drove in four runs for the Aggies, who improved to 20-16 on the year. It was the fourth straight win for UC Davis and fifth in its past six games. Nevada (26-12) lost for just the third time in its past 17 games.
