Pacific hosts Idaho in a quarterfinal game of the inaugural CollegeInsider.com Tournament tonight at 7:00 p.m. The game is available free to BigWest.TV subscribers and for a one-time pay-per-view of $4.95 to non-subscribers.
The Tigers advanced to the quarterfinals with an 82-76 victory against Portland in a first round game on Wednesday, Mar. 18. It was the first postseason win for Pacific since defeating Pittsburgh in the first round of the 2005 NCAA Tournament.
Pacific welcomes former Big West member Idaho to the Spanos Center for the first meeting between the two teams since 2005. The Vandals competed in the Big West from 1996-2005. Pacific owns a 15-2 all-time advantage in the series with the Vandals, which includes a 7-0 record in the Spanos Center.
Idaho earned a 69-67 win against Drake in the first round of the tournament to improve to 17-15 on the year.
The win over Portland clinched a 20-win season for the Tigers for the fifth time in the last six years. Head coach Bob Thomason has led the Tigers to eight 20-win campaigns in the last 13 seasons. Thomason is second all-time in Big West history with 363 overall victories and is No. 1 in conference wins with 209.
The Tigers are tied with UC Riverside for the most home wins (11) of any Big West team and own an 11-4 record on the home court.
Winner of the Pacific-Idaho game faces the winner of the Bradley (19-14) and Oakland (23-12) matchup in a semifinal showdown at a site to be determined on Wednesday, March 25.
The championship game will be televised on Fox College Sports on Tuesday, March 31.
