Thirteen total events are set to air live on BigWest.TV this week. Baseball and softball will open their conference seasons this weekend, while men’s basketball will have at least one more post-season contest.
Men’s Basketball
The Pacific Tigers toppled the Portland Pilots, 82-76, last Wednesday in the first round of the CollegeInsider.com Tournament, advancing them to the quarterfinal round. Pacific will host former conference foe Idaho at the Spanos Center in Stockton on Monday, March 23 at 7:00 p.m. PT. With a win, the Tigers will take on either Bradley or Oakland on Wednesday, March 25.
The game will be available as part of the BigWest.TV package. However, if you are not a subscriber to BigWest.TV, the game can be purchased as a separate pay-per-view event for $4.95.
Softball
Five softball games will air this week beginning on Tuesday, March 24 with a doubleheader from San Luis Obispo. The Cal Poly Mustangs will host Santa Clara for two starting at 2:00 p.m. The Mustangs have won 13 consecutive games to push their record to 19-6 overall. It is the longest such winning streak under head coach Jenny Condon.
The Mustangs will return to action when they begin conference play this weekend against Cal State Fullerton. Cal Poly travels to Fullerton to face the Titans for a three-game set starting with a doubleheader on Saturday, March 28. First pitch is set for 12:00 p.m., while the final game of the series is scheduled for Sunday, March 29 also at 12 noon.
Baseball
The BigWest.TV baseball schedule gets started on Tuesday, March 24 when the Cal Poly Mustangs return home to face San Jose State. Cal Poly has won five straight games and is 14-4 heading into the week. First pitch on Tuesday is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
On Wednesday, March 25 the Mustangs take the field again at their normal 6:00 p.m. start time. Cal Poly will face Dartmouth in a single non-conference contest.
Two weekend series kick off on Friday, March 27, as Pacific hosts UC Davis and UC Irvine hosts Cal Poly in the first conference games of the season on BigWest.TV. The Tigers lost three against Gonzaga last week, while the Aggies when 1-2 against Sacramento State. UC Irvine, meanwhile, won their home series against Nevada last week, 2-1. The Tigers and Aggies will see their first pitch at 5:35 p.m., while the ‘Eaters and Mustangs will take the field at 6:00 p.m.
On Saturday, March 28, UC Irvine and Cal Poly will begin game 2 of their series at 1:00 p.m., and Pacific and UC Davis will square off beginning at 5:35 p.m. The concluding games of both series will take place on Sunday, March 29 at 1:00 p.m.
