The Cal State Northridge softball team (15-9) swept its opening day at the San Diego Classic II, defeating Texas Tech, 3-2, and Oklahoma State, 4-3. Debbie Duran picked up both wins for CSUN in the circle and Alexandria Alvarado had four hits and three RBIs on the day for the Matadors.

LBSU Wins Two on First Day of National Invitational Softball Tournament
The Long Beach State softball team (17-9) opened the National Invitational Softball Tournament with a pair of wins Friday afternoon at SJSU Field. The 49ers kicked off the day by defeating host San Jose State, 2-1, in an eight-inning thriller, before downing Vermont, 9-0, in five innings.

UCR Softball Takes Two At Amy S. Harrison Classic
The UC Riverside Softball Team picked up two wins as host of the Amy S Harrison Classic on Friday topping Longwood 14-6 in their first game and winning the second against Providence, 5-3, with a dramatic two-run walk-off home run off the bat of Brooke Hebenton.

UC Davis Shuts Out Canisius, Sacramento State
Jessica Hancock picked up a pair of victories on Friday as UC Davis defeated Canisius and Sacramento State to begin play at the National Invitational Softball Tournament (NIST) in San Jose. The Aggies defeated the Golden Griffins, 1-0, before blanking the Hornets, 5-0. The wins improve UC Davis to 12-11 on the year.

Big Inning Lifts Titans Over Bowling Green
Freshman Samantha Dollarhide and junior Francesca Gonzales combined to drive in five of Cal State Fullerton's seven runs and freshman right-hander Krystal Heinle struck out a career-high 11 batters on Friday night to lift the Titans to a 7-3 victory over Bowling Green on day three of 2009 Judi Garman Classic at Anderson Family Field.

Matson's Early Home Run Not Enough As Notre Dame Rallies For A 7-3 Win Over Pacific
Staked out to an early three run lead, the Pacific softball team suffered a 7-3 loss at the hands of Notre Dame on Friday, March 13. The loss dropped the Tigers to 10-11 overall while the Fighting Irish improved to 8-8. At the Judy Garman Invitational, the Tigers fell to 1-2 while the Irish improved to 2-1.
