UCSB Posts Pair of Shutouts Over San Diego During Home-Opening Doubleheader
The UC Santa Barbara softball team (13-11) put a halt to its four-game losing skid on Wednesday with a pair of shutout wins over San Diego (3-16) during the Gauchos' home opener at Campus Diamond. UCSB posted a 2-0 win over the Toreros before defeating USD, 8-0, in a mercy-rule victory during the latter half of the two-game series.

UC Davis Swept By Sacramento State
UC Davis (10-11) was defeated by Sacramento State (7-12) in a pair of one-run games in a Wednesday afternoon doubleheader at Shea Stadium. The Hornets won the first game 1-0 and came from behind to take the second, 5-4. Sarah Axelson and Erin Emde each collected two hits in game two. Emde also had a pair of RBIs in the game. Jessica Gonzalez and Alex Holmes drove in runs, as well.

Softball Splits Pair of Games with Saint Joseph's
The UC Riverside softball team split a pair of games with the Saint Joseph Hawks on Wednesday afternoon at Amy S. Harrison Field. UCR (7-16) won the first game 7-1 but fell in the rubber game 5-4 in eight innings.
