This week’s Cal Poly press conferences encompass baseball, women’s & men’s basketball, and swimming & diving.  Hear from baseball coach Larry Lee, women’s basketball coach Faith Mimnaugh, men’s basketball coach Kevin Bromley, and swimming & diving coach Tom Milich.  Get all the latest news from San Luis Obispo on BigWest.TV!

Coach Larry Lee’s Mustangs saw their first pitch of the season last weekend against then No. 3-ranked Rice.  The Mustangs dropped the opening game of the season to the Owls, but bounced back to close out the series with back-to-back wins.  Find out what Coach Lee has to say about the opening weekend, as well as this week’s games against No. 15 Fresno State (Tuesday, February 24) and Sacramento State (Friday, February 27 through Sunday, March 1).  Games 1 and 3 of the Sacramento State series will be available on BigWest.TV.

The Cal Poly women’s basketball team heads into the final two weeks of the season third in the Big West Conference.  Coach Faith Mimnaugh’s squad swept their two contests last weekend against UC Davis and Pacific.  This week, the Mustangs will play their final two games at home this week on Thursday, February 26 against Cal State Northridge and Saturday, February 28 against Cal State Bakersfield.  Both games will air on BigWest.TV.

While the Mustang women are guaranteed a birth in the Big West Tournament (March 11-14), the Mustang men are fighting for their season.  With three games remaining in their conference season, Cal Poly will have to find their way in a hurry.  They will start the week off with Cal State Bakersfield on Wednesday, February 25 and face Pacific on Saturday, February 28 in games available on BigWest.TV.

The Big West Swimming and Diving Championships take place this week in Long Beach, CA with the Mustang men’s and women’s squads looking to better their fifth-place finishes in 2008.  Coach Tom Milich discusses the season to date as well as the challenges ahead this week at Belmont Plaza.
