UCD's Lager, UCSB's Gaudinier Claim Final Weekly Swim Awards of '08-'09

The final Big West swimming & diving honors of the 2008-09 season went to a couple of first timers as UC Davis' Jordan Lager and UC Santa Barbara's Lindsay Gaudinier claimed the men's and women's accolades, respectively.

Lager, a freshman from Novato, Calif., had the best meet of his young career against UC Irvine. He had three lifetime bests in the dual victory over the Anteaters, winning the 100 and 200 backs with times of 49.29 and 1:49.37 and had the fastest 400 IM (4:03.62) while swimming exhibition.

Gaudinier, a sophomore from Pleasanton, Calif., was outstanding in her events during UCSB’s dual meet against Pacific.

She won both the 200 (1:53.27) and 500 free (5:03.37) indvidually, then swam the anchor in the 200 free relay in a time of 1:41.23 during last Saturday’s meet.
