Second Annual Big West SAAC Coin Drive Set to Begin Next Week

After a successful launch a year ago, the Big West Coin Drive will return to the nine conference schools this February as each school's SAAC collects coins and donates the funds to charity.

From February 1-28, the SAAC at each of the nine Big West schools will collect coins at a soon to be announced on campus locations to donate to a designated charity. Each school will donate half of their winnings to their charity and the other half to the winning charity of the school that collects the most funds. A year ago, the nine conference schools, led by UC Davis, raised over $8200 for the various charities but the goal for this year is set at $10,000.

So beginning February 1, be sure to bring your change to your favorite Big West school and support a great cause! The list of each school's charity is below:

Cal State Northridge: The Children's Hunger Fund
Long Beach State: Miller Children's Hospital
UC Davis: American Cancer Society
UC Irvine: SOS Free Medical Clinic - Costa Mesa, Calif.
UC Santa Barbara: Isla Vista Youth Projects
Pacific: St. Joseph's Medical Foundation Breast Cancer Research
