BigWest.TV Schedule for December 22-28, 2008

Twelve men's and women's basketball games will air this holiday week on BigWest.TV.

This week on BigWest.TV, Big West men’s and women’s basketball teams squeeze in their last games before taking a few days off for Christmas and then begin their final set of non-conference games this weekend.

Men’s Basketball

The first two men’s games of the week air on Monday, December 22.  Long Beach State will host Temple at the Walter Pyramid beginning at 6:00 p.m. PT while Cal State Fullerton welcomes Montana State to Titan Gym at 7:05 p.m.  Long Beach State just lost their first home game of the season on Saturday, December 20 to Montana State and is looking to get back on track.  The 49er men’s game will be the second game of a doubleheader with the 49er women on Monday afternoon.  Meanwhile, the Titans are looking for revenge as they lost to Montana State in Billings on December 9.

The Pacific Tigers take to the court on Tuesday, December 23 when St. Mary’s pays a visit at 7:00 p.m.  The Tigers are 6-3 on the year and have won three in a row, all against West Coast Conference opponents.  The Tigers have already defeated USF, Pepperdine, and Santa Clara as they look to sweep their WCC string against the Gaels.

Following a couple of days off, men’s basketball returns to BigWest.TV on Saturday, December 27 when UC Irvine squares off against Utah at the Bren Events Center.  The ‘Eaters return home after a three-game trip to Springfield, Missouri for the Basketball Travelers Tip-Off Tournament for their final game before opening conference play against Cal State Fullerton on Saturday, January 3.

Women’s Basketball

Women’s hoops on BigWest.TV kicks off the week on Monday, December 22 with a quartet of games.  UC Irvine opens the day at 12:00 noon against Western Michigan in their final game of the OC Clash.  At 3:30 p.m., Long Beach State takes on New Mexico State in the first game of a doubleheader with the 49er men.  To close the night, a pair of games tips at 5:00 p.m. when Cal State Northridge hosts Eastern Washington and Pacific takes on Sacramento State.  UC Irvine The Matadors are playing their first game at home since a December 7 victory over Sacramento State, while the Tigers will be playing the second game of a four-game homestand.

Women’s hoops returns to the schedule on Sunday, December 28 with another set quartet of games beginning at 2:00 p.m.  Cal State Northridge will host Columbia at the Matadome while UC Santa Barbara faces Santa Clara at the Thunderdome.  UCSB will be playing their first game in seven days after taking on Kentucky in Lexington on December 21.  At 4:00 p.m., UC Irvine will face the Bulldogs of Yale while Pacific will square off against Iona.
