With finals (mostly) over, the Big West men’s and women’s basketball teams get back to the business on the court this week.  Thirteen contests will be broadcast on BigWest.TV starting on Tuesday, December 16, with seven men’s games and six women’s games.

Men’s Basketball

The week begins with UC Irvine hosting Seattle University on Tuesday, December 16 at 7:05 p.m. PT.  This will be the Anteaters’ first contest since their 71-63 victory over Pepperdine on December 7.  Seattle University edged Cal Poly with less than a second left, 60-59, on December 14.

On Wednesday, December 17, Cal Poly will try to bounce back against Portland State at 7:00 p.m.  This will be the Mustangs’ second game back since taking an eleven-day layoff for finals.

UC Riverside and Cal State Northridge host a pair of games on Thursday, December 18.  The Highlanders face off against Montana (7:00 p.m.), while the Matadors welcome Pepperdine to the Matadome (7:05 p.m.).  Both Riverside(4-0) and Northridge (2-0) are undefeated at home this season.

Two more games are on tap for Saturday, December 20.  Long Beach State returns home after three games on the road to face Montana State at 3:05 p.m. in the first game of a doubleheader with the 49er women.  The second men’s contest of the day tips off at 7:30 p.m. when Pacific hosts Santa Clara, in the second game of a doubleheader with their women.

UC Davis closes out the week on Sunday, December 21 with a game against Loyola (MD).  This is the return game from last spring’s ESPN Bracket Buster contest with the Greyhounds.  Tip-off is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. PT.

Women’s Basketball

Women’s hoops kicks off the week on Wednesday, December 17 when UC Santa Barbara hosts Harvard.  The Gauchos will try to come back from a loss on the road to Pepperdine on December 14.  Game time is set for 7:00 p.m.

On Thursday, December 18, UC Irvine will take on Oregon State beginning at 7:00 p.m.  The Anteaters are playing their first game at home since November 25, having played their last five on the road.

A trio of women’s contests is scheduled for Saturday, December 20 beginning at 2:00 p.m. with Cal Poly tipping off against Eastern Washington.  At 5:00 p.m., Pacific begins a three-game homestand against Seattle University, the first game of a doubleheader with the UOP men’s team.  In the second game of a doubleheader with their men, Long Beach State will square off against BYU at 5:30 p.m.

UC Irvine returns to BigWest.TV action on Sunday, December 21 with their first game in the OC Clash, a four-team classic hosted by the Anteaters.  UCI will take on UNC-Greensboro at 2:00 p.m. at the Bren Events Center.
