The
Long Beach
State 49ers are off to a fast start again this year, with an overall record of 11-3 and a ranking as high as No. 22 in the nation. Despite a small setback against Pacific that evened their conference record at 1-1,
Long Beach is still one of the favorites to win the Big West crown. After having last weekend off, the 49ers will return to action at the Walter Pyramid with three home matches this week.
BigWest.TV recently sat down with
Long Beach
State head coach Brian Gimmillaro who give his thoughts on the season to date, the difficult road trip the 49ers had to start conference play, and this week’s trio of matches in an exclusive interview. Also hear from senior libero Iris Murray, who sat out all of the 2007 season with an injury, but returns this year to try to help her team to the Big West Conference championship.
The 49ers will face Cal State Northridge on Tuesday, October 7 before heading into a showdown with No. 22 Cal Poly on Friday, October 10. Their third match of the week will take place on Saturday, October 11 against UC Santa Barbara. All three matches will be available live on BigWest.TV.
