Big West women’s soccer conference play opened up on Friday, October 3 with a rematch of the 2007 Big West Tournament Championship game, as the Cal Poly Mustangs traveled to
Fullerton to take on the Titans. Buoyed by sophomore Morgan Miller’s two goals, the Mustangs pulled out a victory in the last five minutes of the match when senior Emily Hein put her third goal of the year in the back of the net at 85:56. The Mustangs improved to 6-6-0 on the year (1-0-0 in conference play), while the Titans slipped to 5-6-1 (0-1-0).
Following the match, BigWest.TV spoke with the Mustang senior forward about her clutch goal and the rematch between the teams. Both Cal Poly and Cal State Fullerton return to action on Sunday, October 5. The Mustangs head to
Riverside to face the Highlanders at 1:00 p.m. PT while the Titans host No. 23 UC Santa Barbara at 5:00 p.m.
