UC Irvine brings the Blue & Gold Report back to BigWest.TV this week, with three more outstanding Anteater student-athletes. This week, learn more about sophomore outfielder Dillon Bell, senior men’s tennis player Victor Lamm, and junior decathlete Kyle Peterson.
Bell, a redshirt sophomore from
Bakersfield
, has been a regular in the Anteater lineup since the early parts of the season and was recently named the Big West Player of the Week.
Bell
is batting .372 with 3 home runs, 20 RBI, and 20 runs scored. The ‘Eaters are 33-13 overall, 10-8 in conference play and tied for fourth in the Big West with UC Santa Barbara. They will travel to UC Davis this weekend for a series against the Aggies beginning on Friday, May 16.
Lamm has been an integral part of the
Irvine
men’s tennis team each of his four years at UCI. He is the first Anteater player to be selected to the NCAA Men’s Tennis Singles Championship since 1990, when his current head coach, Trevor Kronemann, was selected along with Richard Lubner. Lamm will begin competition on Wednesday, May 21 at the

Peterson is a recent transfer to UC Irvine from
Orange
Coast
College
and has quickly established himself as top-tier Big West decathlete. At the Big West Multi-Event Championships held May 9-10 at the Matador Track & Field Complex, Peterson finished fourth overall with 6,387 points. The remainder of the Big West Track & Field Championships will be held this weekend, May 16-17 at Cal State Northridge.
