UC Irvine's Erazo Collects All-America Honors
Senior Eddie Erazo finished 8th in the 200 butterfly with a time of 1:45.20 Saturday at the NCAA Men's Championships at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center, earning his All-America accolades. Earlier in the day qualified for the 200 fly finals after touching the wall at a sixth-best time of 1:43.71 in the prelims.
Erazo is UCI's first All-American in men's swimming & diving since current Anteater head coach Brian Pajer accomplished the feat in 1990.
The 2007-08 Big West Male Swimmer of the Year also competed in Friday's 100 fly and 100 back. Erazo finished 28th in the 100 back with a mark of 48.65 and placed 32nd in the 100 fly (47.96).
The San Diego, Calif., native was the lone athlete representing the Anteaters in the NCAA Men's Championship. He managed to tally 11 points for UC Irvine, good enough for 34th.
