Holding the Pacific Tigers to the their worst offensive production this season, the Long Beach State 49ers earned their third conference victory of the season, 69-57 on Saturday night, February 9 at The Walter Pyramid.  The Tigers shot just 28.8% from the field, their lowest percentage this year, and Long Beach State junior Karina Figueroa stuffed the stat sheet with season-high 22 points, 6 rebounds, and 6 assists in the 49ers’ second victory over Pacific this year.  Sophomore Emma Head led the Tigers with 10 points and 9 rebounds.

Following the game, Figueroa discussed her season-best performance, as well as her team’s victory in an interview with BigWest.TV.  Long Beach State head coach Mary Hegarty and Pacific head coach Lynne Roberts also stopped to speak about their teams and what lies ahead in the second half of conference play for each of them.

The 49ers return to the court to face the defending Big West Conference champion UC Riverside Highlanders on Wednesday, February 13 in Riverside .  Pacific will return home to host Cal State Fullerton on Thursday, February 14.  Both games are scheduled to tip at 7:00 p.m. PST and will be available on BigWest.TV.
