The UC Davis men's and women's swimming and diving teams return home to Schaal Aquatics Center for the first time this season on Saturday when they host a double dual with Big West opponents Pacific and Cal Poly at 12:30 p.m. The Aggies then host UC San Diego and Nevada on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. The women's team will compete in a double dual format with the Tritons and Wolf Pack, while the men will just match up with the Tritons. This is the first time both teams have been in action together since Oct. 20 and marks the first of three consecutive weeks of back-to-back meets. The Aggie women have not been in competition in over a month.
Saturday's meeting is the first action of the new season for the Pacific men's team, who has yet to post a win in dual matchups this year. While the men's team hasn't competed in two months, the women's team returns with a 1-2 record after being idle for a month.
Along with the swim meet at UC Davis, the Cal Poly Mustangs also face Cal State Northridge Monday afternoon. Monday's matinee marks the first meet of 2008 for Cal Poly, as both men’s and women’s squads last competed at the UNLV Winter Invite Dec. 15-17.
Prior to visiting Cal Poly, Cal State Northridge travels to UC Santa Barbara for a dual meet at Campus Pool on Friday, Jan. 18 at 1:00 p.m. The Matador women's squad, 0-1 in dual meets, is competing for the third straight week, while the men's team returns to action after a week-long break. This week's lineup marks the first two dual meets of the 2007-08 season for the Matadors men’s team. The Gauchos men’s team is 4-1 this season in dual action, while the women’s team has put together a 4-3 mark.
