CSUN's Strametz Named West District Men's Coach of the Year

Cal State Northridge head track coach Don Strametz was named the West District Coach of the Year today by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

Now in his 22nd year of coaching the Matadors men's squad and 27th year as head coach of the women's contingent, Strametz led CSUN to the Big West title on both sides on his way to Big West Men's and Women's Coach of the Year accolades. He also coached the 2006 Men's Field Athlete of the Year Dashalle Andrews who will compete in the NCAA Championships in two events.

In all, Fifteen CSUN men qualified for the NCAA West Regionals, while three of those athletes will head to Sacramento for the NCAA Championships.
