Senior defender Tim Pontius' two goals propelled No. 19 UC Santa Barbara to a 3-1 victory over visiting UC Davis on Wednesday evening at Meredith Field at Harder Stadium.
Goalkeeper Michael Abalos made six saves and the Cal State Northridge defense held tight for 110 minutes as the Matadors (7-7-2, 3-3-1 Big West) played the No. 9 UC Irvine Anteaters (13-4-1, 5-2-1 Big West) to a scoreless draw on Wednesday night at Matador Soccer Field.
It was deja vu all over again for the Cal State Fullerton and UC Riverside men's soccer teams Wednesday night. Just as occurred on Oct. 15 in Fullerton, the Titans got a first-half goal, the Highlanders scored in the second half and neither team could score in overtime resulting in the teams' second 1-1 Big West Conference tie this season.
