Tigers, Raber Eye NCAA Championship After Successful Day At NCAA Regionals

Following the conclusion of day two of the NCAA Division I Men's Golf Regionals, the Pacific Tigers maintained the fifth spot in the Pullman Regional after firing 293 for a two-day total of 563, tying them for fifth with San Diego State.

SeungJae Maeng paced the Tigers on day two, carding a 3-under 69.  Eric Sugimoto posted his second straight under-par score with a 2-under 70 to tie for fourth place with a 135 total.  Maeng is knotted in 16th while Byron Meth is tied for 25th with a score of 141 (66-75).    Rounding out the five-man team are Alex Edfort and Drew Bender, who sit T57th and T61st, respectively.

Competing as an individual, UC Davis' Tyler Raber is tied for eighth after shooting 1-under 71 on day two of the Pullman Regional for a two-round score of 138. 

Also participating as an individual is UC Santa Barbara Gaucho Glen Scher, who rebounded from a 9-over in round one with an even-par 70 on day.  His two-round score of 149 ranks him tied for 63rd.

With six regional sites, the low five teams and the low individual not on those teams from each regional advance to the championship at the Capital City Club Crabapple Course in Atlanta, Ga., May 28-June 2. 

The final round of the regionals is set for Saturday, May 18.
