The Cal Poly men's cross country team, the only Big West team selected to the championship, finished 28th, while the two Mustang women competing as individuals placed among the top 150.

The USTFCCCA announced today that Cal Poly head coach Mark Conover was named the men's West Region Cross Country Coach of the Year.

Earning the distinction from the Big West Conference were Cal Poly's Daniel Gonia, David Cardona, Leanne Fogg and Meghan Breadmore; Long Beach State's Heath Reedy and Rosa Del Toro; UC Davis' Jonathan Peterson and UC Riverside's Chad Hall.

The Cal Poly men's cross country teams and four individuals received an at-large selection to the 2011 NCAA Division I Men's and Women's Cross Country Championships, as announced today by the NCAA Division I Men's and Women's Track and Field Committee.

Eight of the nine Big West Conference cross country programs are gearing up to compete against the best in the west at the NCAA West Regional Cross Country Championship.
