UC Santa Barbara Men Win Eighth Tournament Title

UC Santa Barbara defeated Pacific, 4-2, in the finals of the Big West Men's Tennis Championship at Indian Wells Tennis Garden Sunday, becoming the first No. 5 seed in history to capture the crown.

The lower seeds ruled the day at the Big West Men's Tennis Championship as No. 3 Pacific and No. 5 UC Santa Barbara advanced to the finals with upset wins against second-seeded Cal Poly and top-seeded UC Irvine, respectively.

Tennis Championships Turn 10 In Indian Wells This Week

The Big West Men's and Women's Tennis Championship begins its 10th tour in Indian Wells Thursday with UC Irvine tabbed the No. 1 seed in both draws.  No school has won both the men's and women's titles in the same year as a top seed since 1997.
