Long Beach State's incoming recruiting class received a top 25 national ranking as voted upon by a panel of junior tennis experts at www.tennisrecruiting.net.  The website tabbed the 49er class No. 23 in the latest ranking following the most recent recruiting period.

UC Santa Barbara and Long Beach State maintained their stronghold on the Big West tennis world in 2009 as the Gaucho men won their fourth straight title while the 49er women captured their a league record-tying sixth consecutive crown.

UC Riverside senior women's tennis player Erynne Oki garnered the ITA/Cissie Leary Award for Sportsmanship for the West Region.  Oki was a recipient from one of eight regions around the country.

Pacific sophomore Jenifer Widjaja learned she will face Aurelija Miseviciute of Arkansas in the first round of the 2009 NCAA Women's Tennis Singles Championships on Wednesday, May 20 at the George P. Mitchell Tennis Center in College Station, Tex.  Texas A&M is the host school.
