UC Santa Barbara (13-4-3) secured a berth into its ninth-consecutive NCAA Division I Men's Soccer Championship with a 3-1 win over Cal State Fullerton (7-12-2) in the Big West Championship final on Saturday night at Meredith Field at Harder Stadium.

Nick Posthuma and Kevin Venegas scored first-half goals and freshman goalkeeper Bryan Escalante came up huge in his first collegiate start Wednesday night as No. 4-seeded Cal State Fullerton shocked host and No. 1-seed UC Irvine, 2-1, in the semifinals of the Big West Conference post-season tournament.

Sophomore Nic Ryan propelled second-seeded UC Santa Barbara to a 2-1 overtime victory over No. 3 seed Cal Poly (8-7-3) with the game-clinching goal in the 98th minute of the Big West Conference Tournament semifinal game at Meredith Field at Harder Stadium on Wednesday night.
