San Jose State 55, Cal State Northridge 49 San Jose, CA (Sports Network) - Eric Walton netted a game-high 17 points and
collected nine rebounds while leading the San Jose State Spartans to a 55-49
victory over the Cal-State Northridge Matadors in a non-league tilt.

Bim Okunrinboye added 16 points for San Jose State (2-3), as he was able to
convert 3-of-5 three-point attempts and help the Spartans shoot a solid 38.5
percent from behind the arc.

Sergei Lepiashinski scored a team-high 12 points in just 14 minutes off the
bench for Cal-State Northridge (2-3), while Chris Davis tallied eight points
and grabbed seven boards in a losing effort.

The Spartans used an 8-2 run late in the first half to take a 28-21 advantage
into the break. San Jose State shot 44.4 percent from the floor in the opening
period, while holding the Matadors to just 35 percent shooting from the field.

Although San Jose State shot 38.1 percent from the field in the second half,
the Spartans held Cal-State Northridge to just 32 percent shooting en route to
the six-point victory.

The Spartans connected on 41.7 percent of their shots from the floor, while
Cal-State Northridge hit just 33.3 percent from the field and turned the ball
over 16 times.
