Cal State Northridge 64, Long Beach State 56 Long Beach, CA (Sports Network) - Ian Boylan netted a game-high 20 points in
leading the Cal State-Northridge Matadors to a 64-56 victory over the Long
Beach State 49ers in Big West Conference action from The Pyramid.

Boylan finished the game 5-of-14 from the floor and 9-of-12 from the foul
line, as the Matadors (8-10, 4-6 BWC) won for the second time in their last
three games. Eto Onyenegecha added 18 points and eight rebounds, while Thomas
Shewmake turned in 12 points and seven boards.

Kevin Roberts paced the 49ers (6-13, 4-6) in defeat with 17 points and eight
rebounds. Marcel Jackson contributed 13 points and five boards, as Long Beach
State dropped its second straight contest.

CS-Northridge closed out the first half with a 6-0 spurt, taking a 35-27 lead
into the break.

In the second stanza, the Matadors shot 43.5 percent from the floor, as they
held on for the eight-point victory.

Each team committed 20 turnovers in the contest, while CS-Northridge dominated
the boards, 42-31.
