Moscow, ID (Sports Network) - Tyrone Hayes netted 14 points and ripped down
seven rebounds in leading the Idaho Vandals to a 70-65 victory over the UC-
Riverside Highlanders in Big West Conference action from the Cowan Spectrum.

Hayes finished the game a perfect 8-of-8 from the foul line, as Idaho (12-13,
8-7 BWC) won its third straight game. Dwayne Williams and Rashaad Powell each
tallied 12 points, while Tanoris Shepard chipped in 10 points in the winning
cause.

Kevin Butler paced the Highlanders (8-14, 5-9) in defeat with 18 points. Vili
Morton added 13 points and seven boards, while Nate Carter turned in 11 points
and five rebounds in the losing effort.

Despite shooting just 33.3 percent from the floor in the first half, Idaho was
able to take a 29-27 lead into the break.

In the second frame, the Vandals converted 16-of-22 free-throw attempts, as
they earned the five-point victory.

Idaho forced UC-Riverside into 17 turnovers, while committing just 11 miscues
itself.
