San Luis Obispo, CA (Sports Network) - Varnie Dennis netted a game-high 22
points in leading the Cal Poly-SLO Mustangs to an 84-70 victory over the UC-
Riverside Highlanders in Big West Conference action from Mott Gym.

Shane Schilling recorded a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds for
the Mustangs (8-9, 3-6 BWC), who won their second straight game. Kameron Gray
turned in 14 points and four assists, while Nick Enzweiler added 12 points and
six assists in the winning cause.

Mark Peters paced the Highlanders (6-11, 3-6) with 20 points on 4-of-7
shooting from the floor. Nate Carter contributed 17 points and seven rebounds,
while Kevin Butler tallied 16 points in the losing effort. The loss was UC-
Riverside's fourth in a row.

Cal Poly shot 56.7 percent from the floor in the first half, opening up a
40-26 lead at the break.

In the second stanza, the Mustangs converted 13-of-16 free-throw attempts, as
they cruised to the 14-point victory.

Cal Poly made 57.4 percent of its total shots in the contest, while holding
the Highlanders to just a 39.6 percent shooting effort.
