Santa Barbara, CA (Sports Network) - Casey Cook scored a game-high 12 points
and grabbed six rebounds in leading the UC-Santa Barbara Gauchos to a 59-47
win over the Idaho Vandals in Big West Conference play from the Thunderdome.

Cameron Goettsche was the only other Gaucho (8-5, 2-2 BWC) to finish in double
figures, knocking in 10 points.

Tanoris Shepard paced the Vandals (3-9, 0-3) in defeat with 12 points, while
Tyrone Hayes and Dandrick Jones had 10 points apiece.

UC-Santa Barbara missed all six of its three-point attempts in the first half,
but still held a 23-21 advantage heading into the break.

The Vandals shot a dismal 26.9 percent from the floor in the second stanza,
allowing the Gauchos to cruise to the 12-point victory.

Idaho made just 32.6 percent of its field goal attempts and turned the ball
over 19 costly times, while UC-Santa Barbara converted 18-of-22 shots taken
from the foul line.
