Irvine, CA (Sports Network) - Jeff Gloger nailed a jumper as time expired to
lift the Anteaters of UC-Irvine to a 65-63 win over the Idaho Vandals in Big
West Conference action from the Bren Events Center.

Ross Schraeder tallied a game-high 27 points for the Anteaters (11-14, 6-9,
Big West), converting 6-of-7 shots behind the three-point line on the night,
while Adam Parada contributed 14 points as Irvine won for the second time in
the last three outings.

The Vandals (12-14, 8-8) were led by Tyrone Hayes with 14 points, Rashaad
Powell 12 and Dwayne Williams 11 points as the team had it's three-game win
streak snapped.

It was a tale of two halves as Irvine converted 64.7 percent from the field,
including 7-of-12 beyond the arc, in the first half, leading to a commanding
39-21 edge at the break.

In the second half it was time for Idaho to pick up the pace and connect on
51.9 percent from the floor and 10-of-14 at the free-throw line to close the
gap to a point down the stretch.

The Anteaters survived 17 turnover by converting 23-of-29 at the charity
stripe, compared t0 15-of-23 for the Vandals.

Irvine was without the services of Mike Efevberha who was suspended
indefinitely on Wednesday for violating team and department rules according to
head coach Pat Douglass.
