Irvine, CA (Sports Network) - Mike Efevberha hit a leaning three pointer with 2.8 second left in regulation, lifting the UC-Irvine Anteaters to a 66-65 victory over the UC-Riverside Highlanders in Big West Conference action from the Bren Events Center.

Stanislav Zuzak led the Anteaters (8-6, 3-2 BWC) with a game-high 21 points on 8-of-11 shooting from the floor. Efevberha finished with 16 points, while Adam Parada turned in 14 points and seven rebounds.

Nate Carter paced the Highlanders (5-7, 2-2) with 16 points and eight rebounds. Rickey Porter added 10 points in the losing effort.

The Anteaters shot 47.8 percent from the floor in the first half, opening up a 33-23 lead at the break.

In the second stanza, the Highlanders battled back behind 57.8 percent shooting from the field, but they could not stop UC-Irvine from hitting the game-winning shot in the last few seconds.

The Anteaters made 51.1 percent of their total shots in the game, while holding the Highlanders to just a 43.9 percent shooting effort.
