Riverside, CA (Sports Network) - Nate Carter had 15 points and 10 rebounds in
leading the UC-Riverside Highlanders to a 64-60 victory over the Cal State-
Fullerton Titans in Big West Conference action from the Student Recreation
Center.

Kevin Butler finished with 14 points for the Highlanders (5-6, 2-1 BWC), while
Mark Peters added 13 points and four assists.

Cal-State Fullerton (4-8, 0-3) was paced in defeat by Pape Sow, who had a
double-double with 17 points and 17 rebounds. Bobby Brown added 12 points in
the losing effort, but shot just 5-of-15 from the floor.

The Titans went on a 13-2 run near the start of the first half, allowing them
to take a 34-26 advantage into the break.

Cal-State Fullerton shot just 39.3 percent from the field in the second
stanza, allowing the Highlanders to come away with the four-point win.

The Highlanders shot just 20.8 percent from behind the arc and got
outrebounded, 46-34, but they were able to force the Titans into 18 costly
turnovers.
