San Luis Obispo, CA (Sports Network) - Varnie Dennis netted a game-high 27
points ad collected eight boards in leading the Cal Poly Mustangs to a 70-62
victory over the UC-Irvine Anteaters in Big West Conference action from Mott
Gymnasium.

Dennis ended the game 10-of-18 from the floor, as the Mustangs (11-15, 6-12
BWC) won their second straight game. Shane Schilling added 14 points and seven
boards, while Nick Enzweiler turned in 11 points and five rebounds.

Ross Schraeder led the Anteaters (11-17, 6-12) with 19 points on 4-of-9
shooting from long range. Adam Parada contributed 12 points and seven
rebounds, as UC-Irvine dropped its second straight game.

Cal Poly shot 51.8 percent from the floor in the first half, taking a 34-30
lead into the break.

In the second stanza, the Mustangs converted 12-of-19 free-throw attempts, as
they pulled away for the eight-point victory.

Cal Poly made 49.0 percent of its total shots in the contest, while UC-Irvine
hit on just 38.2 percent from the floor.
