- Guided the Gophers to four NIT appearances and one trip to the NCAA Tournament over his seven-plus seasons, despite NCAA sanctions stemming from violations that occurred before his arrival.
- Took the Gophers to the NIT semifinals in Madison Square Garden in 2002-03 as they finished 19-14.
